Judson Group is proud to partner with an independent, fee-only wealth management firm serving affluent individuals and families throughout the U.S. in the search for a Wealth Advisor – CFP. The firm specializes in helping clients navigate retirement by bringing income planning, tax strategy, investment management, and estate considerations together under one coordinated plan. As a Wealth Advisor – CFP, you’ll take a central role in guiding clients through these decisions and building relationships that span decades.
This role is designed for an experienced CFP who wants to focus on advising rather than selling. There are no cold calls, seminar requirements, prospecting quotas, product sales, or expectations to bring an existing book of business. The firm’s established marketing and referral channels generate qualified introductions, allowing you to spend your time doing what you do best: understanding clients’ goals, delivering thoughtful planning, and serving as a trusted advisor over the long term.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Spend your time on financial planning and client relationships—not prospecting or business development.
- Meet with prospective clients who have already been identified through established marketing and referral channels.
- Work with affluent households on complex retirement and wealth planning decisions that evolve over many years.
- Collaborate with experienced CPAs, EAs, associate advisors, and paraplanners on sophisticated client situations.
- As your client base grows, additional support is built around you so your role remains focused on high-value client work.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as the primary advisor to a select group of client families, providing comprehensive retirement, tax, investment, and estate planning guidance.
- Develop retirement income strategies, including Roth conversion analysis, Social Security planning, tax optimization, and portfolio management.
- Meet with prospective clients who come through the firm’s marketing and referral network, understand their objectives, and determine whether the relationship is a mutual fit.
- Translate complex financial concepts and investment strategies into clear, practical recommendations clients can understand and act on.
- Partner with internal planning and service professionals to address complex financial, tax, and estate considerations.
- Help improve the firm’s planning processes, client experience, and overall delivery of advice.
- Work within a technology-driven environment that includes MoneyGuide Pro, Holistiplan, Tamarac, Wealthbox, YCharts, and leading custodial platforms.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience advising affluent clients through comprehensive financial planning and investment management within a fee-only RIA environment.
- CFP designation required.
- CPA, ChFC, EA, or CFA credentials are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of retirement income planning for households with $1 million–$10 million+ in investable assets.
- Ability to clearly explain and confidently stand behind an evidence-based investment philosophy, including during periods of market volatility.
- Strong listening, communication, and writing skills, with a client approach grounded in expertise and trust.
- A genuine interest in the technical side of planning—from tax strategies and withdrawal sequencing to survivor planning and portfolio decisions.
- Familiarity with MoneyGuide Pro, Holistiplan, Tamarac, or Wealthbox is helpful.
- Most importantly, you’re looking to build a long-term career centered on client relationships and financial planning—not a sales career centered on business development.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Very Competitive base salary + bonus structure.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
