Judson Group has partnered with a multi-billion dollar, independent RIA (office located in Midtown) in the search for a Director of Financial Planning (UHNW Planning Specialist). This is an exciting opportunity to be the firm’s first dedicated planning resource tasked with building out planning offerings as well as a team over time. The firm’s goal is to build a state-of-the-art wealth planning division that offers families complex financial planning solutions, in addition to working side by side with the advisory team to offer a best-in-class services offering to clients.
The Director of Financial Planning (UHNW Planning Specialist) is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the financial planning services of the firm. The Director of Financial Planning serves as an intermediary between the financial planning team, the advisory team, and the firm’s leadership to help establish best practices, processes, procedures, and protocols.
The ideal candidate has extensive financial planning experience as well as strong tax and estate planning knowledge to be able to serve the firm’s HNW/UHNW clients. Experience building a planning department and team is also ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the Wealth Planning Team through hiring, training, coaching, and performance development.
- Build detailed service models for different client types.
- Regularly partner with the firm’s Client Service Team to ensure a cohesive and consistent wealth planning experience for clients.
- Evaluate, design, and enhance the client experience through long-term strategic initiatives and recommendations including building a ‘toolbox’ of deliverables to address common wealth planning areas.
- Maintain team policies and procedures.
- Manage and improve workflow.
- Create financial planning content, oversee regular communications with team members and clients, and coordinate updates with marketing materials, newsletters, and website communications.
- Oversee technology tools, development, and implementation.
- Review and analyze new products, models, software, and vendors.
- Continually evaluate service offering to clients.
- Design, administer and monitor financial planning programs to deliver an exceptional product and service to our clients.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of financial/wealth planning experience preferably in an RIA environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- CFP required; CPA, CFA, JD desirable.
- Investments experience a plus.
- Strong technical and software program experience.
- Strong analytical and planning capabilities.
- A self-motivated, highly driven, and entrepreneurial personality.
- Client first approach with can-do attitude; decisive, organized, and able to multi-task.
Compensation:
Competitive base/bonus plan in addition to equity grant.
