Judson Group has been retained by a $5B+ independent financial planning and investment advisory firm in the search for a Vice President of Advisor Recruiting – Wealth Management. This role reports directly to the President and is an integral member of the management team. The VP will be a hands-on leader, responsible for the development and execution of the company’s advisor acquisition strategy via traditional recruiting of financial advisors, advisor teams, and firms open to an M&A opportunity.

This role will have a broad view of the company and is highly collaborative and requires strong partnership with leadership across all disciplines and multiple operational areas. This is an outstanding opportunity for an advisory team leader with a deep understanding of a wealth management practice, a proven track record in developing relationships and closing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the company’s regional recruiting strategy focused on recruiting experienced advisors, advisor teams, and wealth management firms.
  • Collaborate with management and leadership teams to develop a clear, compelling, and differentiated pitch to recruits and acquisition targets.
  • Leverage market data and changes to identify opportunities, influence capabilities development and inform marketing campaigns.
  • Raise brand visibility within industry to attract prospective advisors and partner firms.
  • Actively build and maintain detailed pipelines of prospective financial advisors and M&A targets.
  • Support onboarding and integration activities.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of developing relationships with advisors and wealth teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree and/or designations preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of a financial advisor’s role, functions, and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of financial services operational functions, terminology, and software.
  • Growth mindset, demonstrating a willingness to take on new tasks.
  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously.
