Each year, Judson Group employees dedicate a full day of service to a local organization. Over the past two years, our selected organization was Habitat for Humanity.
Our group worked at the Plaza Roosevelt site that will ultimately include a combination of homes, apartments, healthcare clinic and pharmacy, a neighborhood high school and lots of green space. The homes will be a blend of single family units and townhome style houses, all will be LEED-certified.
On Friday, September 27, Judson Group employees split into two crews. One crew was dedicated to digging easement windows and installing retaining walls for the townhome style houses facing Grandville Avenue. “Working a Habitat for Humanity build is definitely hard work,” noted Hunter Judson, President of Judson Group. “But our team gets great satisfaction out of seeing their efforts come together throughout the day.”
The second crew built window sills for the townhomes facing Rumsey Street that will overlook the park and high school. “I really enjoy the team-building aspect of the day,” commented Eric Szubinski, Judson Group’s Director of Research. “The work creating the window sills required more craftsmanship than I was expecting. It’s a good opportunity to do something different and see what you can do and what others on your team can do.”
