Judson Group is proud to partner with a respect RIA with over $1.1B in AUM in the search for a Senior Tax Planner to join its expanding team and play a key role in delivering integrated tax planning strategies to high-net-worth clients. This position partners closely with Financial Advisors and the broader advisory team to identify planning opportunities, navigate complex tax matters, and translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.

The ideal candidate brings deep tax preparation and planning experience, tax compliance, strong client-facing skills, and an interest in working at the intersection of tax and wealth management. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with clients, contribute to prospect conversations, stay ahead of evolving tax legislation, and help shape more efficient tax planning processes across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and present strategic tax planning recommendations in partnership with Financial Advisors.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax planning, compliance, and related matters.
  • Participate in prospect meetings and articulate how proactive tax planning can complement broader wealth management strategies.
  • Prepare and review individual and entity tax projections and identify planning opportunities.
  • Research complex tax issues, interpret regulatory changes, and provide practical guidance to the advisory team.
  • Monitor changes in tax law and communicate relevant developments across the organization.
  • Use tax planning software and technology to analyze client situations and support recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax planning workflows, processes, and efficiency.
  • Build trusted client relationships through responsive service, technical expertise, and consistent follow-through.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8–10+ years of tax planning and preparation experience.
  • CFP® certification required.
  • CPA or EA required; candidates currently pursuing either designation may be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience providing tax consulting and planning services to high-net-worth clients.
  • Experience working with business entities and entity-level tax considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of individual and entity tax planning, tax compliance, and tax research.
  • Ability to research complex tax matters and stay current with changes in tax law and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical tax concepts clearly.
  • Strong relationship-building and client service skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Experience with Holistiplan and Income Lab preferred.
