Judson Group has been exclusively retained by a highly respected, financially strong $7B Midwest-based financial institution in the search for an experienced Investment Portfolio Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned investment professional to step directly into a client-facing, investment-centric role—driving portfolio strategy, conducting hands-on research, and contributing to the growth of a thriving investment division.
You’ll immediately take ownership of a book of sophisticated clients, working alongside seasoned Relationship Managers to deliver exceptional portfolio management and strategic guidance.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Step into a role with an established client base, where your investment decisions and insights will be seen and felt right away.

- Enjoy the best of both worlds—financial stability and strong infrastructure paired with a nimble, relationship-driven team.
- Work across asset classes including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
- Build real relationships with clients and help drive long-term outcomes, not just quarterly returns.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead investment research and trading activity across complex client portfolios.
- Serve as the primary investment professional for assigned high-net-worth relationships—participating in client meetings and delivering strategic portfolio insights.
- Help shape and evolve investment policy guidelines, while researching and vetting a wide range of traditional and alternative investment options.
- Manage diversified portfolios including personal trust, employee benefit plans, and commingled funds—with a focus on delivering consistent, risk-aware returns.
- Execute trades, monitor performance, and ensure portfolios remain aligned with client objectives and market opportunities.
- Play a key role in new business development efforts and actively participate in trust and investment committee meetings.
- Serve as a trusted resource in the firm’s investment strategy, client communications, and long-term planning discussions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5–8 years of investment management experience, ideally in portfolio construction and research.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree (MBA), CFA®, or CFP® designation highly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and grow high-value client relationships.
- Strong analytical background with deep understanding of equity and fixed income strategies.
- Familiarity with alternative investments is a plus.
- Confident communicator with strong presentation and technology skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary.
- Annual performance-based bonus.
- Full benefits package including health, retirement, and professional development support.
