Judson Group has been retained by a boutique RIA in the search for a Director of Investment Operations. The firm caters to both HNW and UHNW families and clients. The Director of Investment Operations reports to the CIO and plays a critical hands-on role in the firm’s growth and development. This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing, independent firm and participate in the upside of that growth. This individual will be a contributing member of the firm’s Investment Committee and will be a part of the leadership team.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with strong investment and operations experience that can manage the firm’s investment team day-to-day and work closely with other members of the leadership team to set strategy. This individual should have experience in various facets of an investment department, including creating operational efficiencies, portfolio construction, investment analytics, alternative investment due diligence, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day management of the investment team.
  • Lead projects related to investment management technology, processes and procedures, and best practices within the operations and investment teams.
  • Participate in creation of the investment proposal process and deliverable creation to achieve optimal levels of automation and scalability.
  • Lead the new advisor onboarding and portfolio conversion process for future external advisor acquisitions and tuck-ins.
  • Assist in the refinement of current Investment Department processes, including the establishment of workflows and memorialization of process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and insight into proposal and presentation generation, with client/prospect presentations as needed.
  • Provide leadership to all members of the Investment Department.
  • Guide the portfolio construction process for both traditional and alternative investments.
  • Identify ways to optimize portfolios & research new strategies.
  • Monitor and refine the due diligence framework for both traditional and alternative investments (initial and ongoing), as needed.
  • Assist in screening opportunities and researching new potential investments.
  • Participate in Alternative investment due diligence.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of wealth experience at a brokerage firm, RIA or similar.
  • 7+ years in financial services leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong credentials including CFA, CAIA, CFP, CIMA, JD, and MBA preferred.
  • Series 63 and 65 (or 66).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, TD Ameritrade, Orion Advisor software, and Salesforce.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities.
