Judson Group has been retained by a privately-held, multi-billion-dollar RIA in the search for a Chief Practice Development Officer. The firm caters exclusively to UHNW families and institutional clients. As a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team, this individual will be integral in establishing and executing the firm’s long-term business development vision and strategies.

This role will have hands-on responsibility for leading and developing the Advisor team through regular coaching and training on business development and sales strategies. The ideal candidate should be a strong mentor and leader, ready to drive business through coaching and motivating a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and leadership of the Managing Directors to drive business development on a sustainable growth trajectory.
  • Manage and lead the MD team to maximize market penetration, acquire new clients through COI networking and referrals from existing clients to and drive growth and profitability.
  • Oversee each MD’s KPIs, sales targets, pipelines, and activity.
  • Prepares and leads all monthly MD meetings and training.
  • Represents MDs and Business Development objectives in all committees, councils, forums and working groups.
  • Manages one Senior Executive Coordinator and Practice Management Analyst.
  • Provide regular communication to CEO, Senior Leadership, Board of Directors and Partners on state of Business Development and key metrics.
  • Provides strategic leadership to Marketing department with regards to processes and development of proposals and discussion guides for business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of wealth experience with direct client responsibilities.
  • Strong credentials including CFA, CFP, CPA, JD, and MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a coach in the financial services industry leading a team’s practice and the Business Development to build that practice.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of investment consulting and high net worth planning techniques.
  • Prior experience in a client facing advisor role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities.
