Judson Group has been retained by a rapidly growing, fee-only RIA in the search for a Chief Operating Officer. This individual will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, finance, human resources, compliance, and technology. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a strategic thinker to make a large impact on a growing firm by partnering with the Founder/CEO to scale the business. The firm is privately held and has a path to partnership for employees.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience within an RIA or similar firm, with at least 5 years of management experience. This individual will be responsible for working closely with the CEO to manage business operations, team leadership/development, and strategic planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and managerial ownership of the firm’s day-to-day financial management operations and financial administration.
  • Develop and maintain control of all business operations, adjusting as necessary to ensure the organization is consistently working together.
  • Attract, retain, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Create comprehensive goals for performance and growth strategies.
  • Recognize areas of opportunities for improvement across the organization, including opportunities to boost revenue, reduce cost, and increase profitability throughout the organization.
  • Overall responsibility for business operations including vendor relations, service contracts maintenance, technology support, etc.
  • Develop strong networks and relationships among stakeholders and all members of the firm to create operational efficiencies.
  • Align all resources to achieve the highest value for the company, employee, and clients.
  • Plan, prioritize, develop, and execute the strategy that complies with the vision of the CEO.
  • Manage and empower operations and client service team managers to ensure highest efficiencies on both teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field; MBA or additional designations a plus.
  • 10 year’s relevant experience.
  • Track record of success with strategy, leadership, development, and implementation to achieve operational objectives.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the RIA industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
