Judson Group has partnered with a leading, independently owned investment firm with almost $20B AUM in the search for a Director of Financial Planning. This individual will serve in an entrepreneurial leadership role to design and implement a financial planning practice from the ground up with regards to all financial planning activities, strategies, and initiatives. This individual will be responsible for overall planner development, implementing the firm’s financial planning strategy through process/tool development, and eventual expansion of the financial planning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and retain financial planning team; strategically road-mapping hires, professional development, and team structure
  • Effectively support financial planning team and manage the financial planning process to ensure timely, accurate, and quality client deliverables
  • Serves as a financial planning resource for the firm, answering questions and training the client engagement team on common financial planning questions and processes
  • Evaluate, design, and enhance the client experience through long-term strategic initiatives and recommendations with the client engagement team
  • Manage and monitor metrics and key performance indicators of the financial planning team to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Strong use of advanced technologies, tools, and resources to be used in client/potential client meetings
  • Reviews, and develops financial planning materials, educational pieces, and marketing/events
  • Attend client meetings to act as subject matter expert in all financial planning related matters
  • Ensures adherence to and fiscal responsibility to financial planning team budget
  • Proactively network and represent the firm at various functions and community events

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of financial planning experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field is required
  • CFP designation required; CPA, CFA, JD, MBA desirable
  • Knowledge of financial services operational functions, terminology, and software
  • Highly proactive, must have a strong work ethic
  • High degree of customer service, confidentiality and urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
